South Sound Behavioral Hospital Announces CEO

Lacey, WA – South Sound Behavioral Hospital has named Caroline Fisher, MD PhD as Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Fisher is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist as well as an outstanding and innovative healthcare executive with experience in both outpatient and inpatient levels of care.  She comes to South Sound from sister institution Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital in Marysville, WA, where she has been acting Chief Operating Officer.  Prior to that, she was the Vice President of Mental Health at Samaritan Health Systems in Corvallis, Oregon, where she had oversight of both the inpatient psychiatric services in 5 hospitals and the outpatient services across three counties.  She is looking forward to joining the community as a partner, neighbor, and friend.  “My vision for South Sound Behavioral Hospital is that it be a place of sanctuary for healing from mental illness, a place of employment that feels like family, and a strong partner with the larger community.”  Dr. Fisher is a native of the Pacific Northwest. She received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, and both a medical degree and a doctoral degree in pharmacology from Boston University.

About South Sound Behavioral Hospital

South Sound Behavioral Hospital is a 108-bed inpatient mental health facility anticipated to open in May 2019.  It will have inpatient and intensive outpatient services for adolescents, adults, and senior adults, in a newly renovated building in downtown Lacey.  Treatment services will include free initial screenings and assessments; group therapy, medication management and chemical dependency care in a safe, caring environment with trained physicians, nurses, counselors and technicians who will provide outstanding care for individuals and families.
