South Sound Behavioral Hospital is a brand new, state of the art mental health and chemical dependency hospital opening in late spring of 2019. We are actively searching for experienced leadership and skilled staff.
Leadership Positions (All Full Time):
Performance Improvement/ Quality Assurance Coordinator– assigned to the performance improvement program to assist the leadership, medical staff, and facility in designing, planning, implementing and overseeing comprehensive and integrated PI and Risk Management programs. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a health-related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a healthcare of behavioral health setting involving quality improvement preferred.
Dietary Manager – responsible for the effective management of the Dietary Department. The manager supervises all purchasing, receiving, storage and utilization of all food, supplies, and equipment. This position enforces cleaning and sanitation ensuring the standards of the hospital, The Joint Commission and CMS standards, Health Department, local and federal regulations are in compliance. The Manager supervises the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for patients and facility staff according to the approved menu cycle and production sheets. Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a similar setting.
HIM Manager (Medical Records) – responsible for directing the activities of the Health Information Management Services Department in the management and maintenance of all patient medical records information, ensuring compliance will all state and federal laws, rules/regulations of licensing agencies and within TJC standards for the quality of patient care. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred in healthcare information management required. Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience in information management in a healthcare setting. RHIA or RHIT through AHIMA required.
Director of Utilization Management – is responsible for overseeing the Utilization Management Program. This includes the implementation of case management scenarios, consulting with all services to ensure the provision of an effective treatment plan for all patients, oversees the response to requests for services and interfaces with managed care organizations, external reviewers, and other payors. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ direct clinical experience in a mental health setting.
Program Manager – oversees daily operation of evidence-based practice/best practice programming. The program director provides clinical supervision of program dynamics within the acute therapeutic milieu for patients. Supports program development and organizational objectives, while ensuring that patient goals for recovery, stabilization, and community re-integration are supported by appropriate services. Supervises and assists in hiring, training, and evaluation of program staff. Master’s level license as a social worker or counselor preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in inpatient mental health and chemical dependency setting and 1-year supervisor experience preferred.
Housekeeping Supervisor – provides supervisory support and assists the housekeepers in daily housekeeping routines such as cleaning patient rooms, offices, and public areas, while ensuring a safe and risk preventative environment within OSHA regulations. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in health care environment of care and at least 1-year experience in supervising personnel.
Activity Therapists, Full Time/Per Diem – responsible for planning and implementing activity services for assigned program, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients. Bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy and certified as Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Minimum of 1-year related experience with an understanding of mental health setting.
Nursing Supervisors, Full Time (Evenings, Nights, Weekends) – responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives. This position assists in contributing to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational and Performances Improvement efforts while providing supervision to staff assigned to his/her shift. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a mental health setting with supervisory experience preferred. Current RN license in good standing.
Staff Nurses (RNs), Full Time/ Part Time/ Per Diem (All Shifts) – registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum 3 years’ experience in mental health setting preferred. Current RN license in good standing.
Program Therapists, Full Time/ Part Time/ Per Diem (Days, Weekends) – performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed. Must possess master’s level social work or counseling license in IL. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills.
Dietician, Part Time (Days) – approves menus including modified diets, provides nutritional assessments for patients as needed, and counsels patients and their families on dietary plans, food selections, preparation, and nutritional principles. Monitors the performance improvement plans of the Nutritional Services department and provides input in the development and implementation of patient care plans in relation to nutritional needs. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in health care facilities with a concentration in nutritional assessment and planning preferred. Registration with American Dietetic Association or state license, if applicable.
Cooks, Full Time/ Per Diem (Days, Evenings, Weekends) – responsible for the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for patients and facility staff according to the approved menu cycle and production sheets. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in quantity cooking and basic knowledge of modified diets.
Dietary Aide, Full Time/ Part Time/ Per Diem (Days, Evenings, Weekends) – responsible for the following: assisting with preparing the salad bar, maintaining an adequate supply of beverages, ensuring the cafeteria and dining room remain clean at all times, assisting in the preparation and delivery of patient meals and room supplies, operating the dish machine, assisting the cook as required and stocking kitchen necessities on each floor as required. Must have prior experience in food service and a basic knowledge of food service sanitation.
Housekeeper, Full Time/ Part Time/ Per Diem (Days, Evenings, Weekends) – provides completes daily housekeeping routines such as cleaning patient rooms, offices and public areas, while ensuring a safe and risk preventative environment within OSHA regulations. Minimum of 1-year experience in healthcare housekeeping preferred.
Utilization Management Coordinator, Full Time (Weekdays) – responsible for contacts external case managers/managed care organizations for certification and recertification of insurance benefits throughout the patient’s stay and assists the treatment team in understanding the insurance company’s requirements for continued stay and discharge planning. The UR Coordinator is responsible for having a thorough understanding of the patient’s treatment through communication with the treatment team. The UR Coordinator advocates for the patient’s access to services during treatment team meetings and through individual physician contact. The UR Coordinator chairs treatment team meetings and continued stay reviews as indicated. Bachelor’s degree in health care related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a healthcare setting or managed care company, with experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, utilization management, and/or case management.
Maintenance Technician, Full Time/ Per Diem (Weekdays) – performs a variety of tasks, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, test and inspections of physical plant equipment, preventive maintenance and various janitorial duties with minimal supervision. Must have experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment ensuring proper safety precautions. Must experience in the area of building maintenance and basic mechanical engineering.
Receptionist, Full Time/ Part Time/ Per Diem (Days, Evenings, Weekends) – is responsible for greeting and assisting all visitors, answering the switchboard, documenting incoming deliveries, processing incoming and outgoing mail and providing clerical support as requested. In addition, the Receptionist prepares weekday deposits, prepares monthly statements for mailing, assists with various clerical duties and projects as assigned, and may assist with completing appropriate paperwork for new admissions during after-hours shifts if assigned. Minimum 2 years’ experience on a multi-line telephone switchboard, preferably in health care environment preferred.
Admissions Clinician, Full Time/ Part Time/ Per Diem (Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends) – responsible for assisting in the process of responding to referrals and other requests for services and information. The A&R Counselor provides technical assistance to the discharge planning process, under the direction of the Director of A&R. Provides general support to the case management program. Master’s degree in human relations field. Master’s level license as a mental health professional (social worker or counselor).
Security Tech, Full Time/ Per Diem (Nights) – functions as guard, patrol, or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. This position provides support as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling. Security Techs work under the direction of the nurse supervisor. Minimum 2 years’ of related experience, with an understanding of mental health.
Financial Counselor, Full Time (Days) – responsible for verifying benefits and eligibility on admission inquiries, preparing admission folders, collecting co-pays/deductibles from patients, assisting with establishing effective and timely payment plans, coordinating with utilization review and discharge planning efforts to limit risk of non-payment, providing ongoing patient benefit information, participating in patient discharge procedures, and coordinating financial arrangements with collection personnel. Minimum 1 year experience in admission processes and collections procedures, and a working knowledge of managed care; interpretation of insurance coverage plans, co-payments and deductible schedule and payment plans.
Community Liaison, Full Time (Days) – implements the philosophy, policy, procedures, systems and strategic goals set forth by the senior management team while maximizing referral potentials from assigned accounts, and developing new business to achieve the goals and objectives of the business development systems. Bachelor’s degree in health related field. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in health care business development with measurable business development results, and a knowledge of mental health and chemical dependency treatment principles.
Mobile Assessment Counselors, Per Diem (All Shifts) – responsible for providing mobile clinical assessment and coordinating appropriate level of care as clinically determined. This position provides support services to the assessment and referral department and assists in the pre-certification of insurance and memorandum of transfer as needed from one hospital to another. Master’s degree in a human relations field preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in psychiatric assessment activities. Licensed as an RN or Master’s level social worker or counselor.
